Long ago in deep time, there lived a gentle giant; the chalicotheres. Though their big claws were used to hook tree branches and their robust bellies for digesting plants, this chalicotherium used its large stature and ample stomach space to protect smaller prey. The poor, terrified mesotherium inside it's soft tum was confused as it ran from sharp fangs into a gentler maw... scared at first, but quickly realizing it was safe. Safe from the piercing ripping jaws of creodonts on the hunt, inside a big burly tank of a protector. <3

DISCLAIMER: I did SOME research, so the animals in this image did all live into the Pleistocene! However I did not do as much research on habitat, and these are my stylized interpretations of the species. So, take the accuracy with a pinch of salt! I highly recommend looking up these cool critters. They're even 'weirder' than you'd expect!
