Description
Pirates always struggle when it comes to supplies and repairs, not even speaking of regular maintenance. This is a unique 200 ton mobile mobile fieldbase is the ultimate answer to their problem. Nobody knows its origin, but it goes definitely back to early Star Leagues times. It has been observed by only a few eye witnesses and mainly The Watch scouts in the Periphery and last at Wark and Trinity. It is assumed that it was originally prototyped as a drone lunch and command center that is at the maximum limits to fit into larger drop ships. For this purpose it hat various parts that can be retracted. Unfolded they give additional space for the crew and leisure space for mech pilots or other crews. An Explorer Corps report speculated that this is actually the backbone fieldbase of some covert operations in the deep periphery between the Homeworlds and the Inner Sphere.
Weapons and Equipment
The current layout shows various salvaged clan weapon systems and some IS equipment. So currently there is a ATM 12 launcher, two Streak SRM 6 launchers, four ER Medium Lasers and two Anti-Missle Systems. This equipment is meant to defend the fieldbase. In the feature list there is also a state of the art Angel ECM Suite, Command Console, Drone Launcher, storage and maintenance equipment and more. Even with an ECM, the best defense will be "not to be near to any hostiles" for such a slow moving high value asset.
The model:
Artist is Grimshak (cool-mini-or-not) who also dit the "Landcarrier" mod that can be found in my gallery. Highly adjustable parts are fixed with magnets. So can be the bridge be fixt in the upper and lower position. Also the two tank chassis and the cranes are fixed with magnets.
The figther is a Vulcan VLC-5N.

Best Battletech photography I've seen, love your entire gallery. Also, seeing this picture makes me think about doing support vehicles for my store.

More support vehicles would be really great. This requires some creativity. Also the Rattler would be an interesting project.

Yeah, a Rattler-like vehicle would be very interesting to tackle. I'm working on a big scenery set for 6mm gaming (aka Battletech) that would resemble a Star League base when all put together. Still open to additional ideas on structures or support vehicles to include.

Another idea would be the trucks from MWO in various versions.

That is pretty awesome. Having a big vehicle that can set up a base camp in a few easy steps and then pack up and move as needed... I love that concept!
