They're shapeshifters and regenerators made out of exposing human test subjects to something called "Lesser Lights" by a secretive organization called Seed a Barren Earth. SABE wants to merge humanity with the Lesser Lights and the Synkrasis are their failed test subjects that lost all their humanity (but they're still very useful as soldiers) Their clothes and gear actually shapeshift with them since they are no longer humans wearing gear, but both got combined into the same dimensional gestalt entity.Β
They don't talk but can follow orders pretty easily. The only form of intelligence they have is tactical intelligence (i.e. they know urban warfare and room clearing tactics instinctually) but are otherwise basically machines. They usually shapeshift into whatever proportion is more useful for the given environment, though they can also use their shapeshifting offensively to rip people apart and eat enemy troops. Normally they use H&K UMP9 sub-machineguns, which are centuries old conventional firearms. They regenerate extremely fast, to the point where blowing one's head off only causes it to stumble back before the whole head re-grew.

For transport and storage they usually just use their regular human shapes since that means they can just be put inside trucks, armored personnel carriers and conventional aircraft. They could probably shapeshift into spheres or something much smaller to better be deployed but then again they are incapable of learning and not sentient so it never really crosses their minds.
