January would bring about the new regimes at Goblindale, and also meant that TJ would soon be getting backed. Upon taking delivery of his specially selected, brand new saddle, Tobias was eager to begin introducing the young stallion to a full set of tack.
Just like his father, TJ was initally unphased. Tobias placed the saddle upon his back and fastened it, just tight enough so as it would not slip. He fastened the lunge line to his bridle, and began some basic flatwork.
TJ bucked and kicked in protest to the saddle, but soon settled into it. Gradually, Tobias was able to tightend the girth and get TJ used to the feeling of a well fitting saddle. The next step as to get somebody on his back...
