i'm adding borders for the first time to see if it helps bring the picture out. does it?instruments are meant to be played and adored for the pleasure they bring to the ears. this group of violins were huddled together in my dad's workshop, waiting voicelessly for him to work on them, to sand their imperfections out, and to finally string them for playing.
sometimes i feel like i'm still waiting in line for my turn in life. you ever feel this way? i know that i have to create opportunities for myself and to take bold strides when necessary, but things don't seem to always turn out the way i hope.
maybe i'm still not ready for playing. guess i still need to work on my rough edges...
patience is a virtue, right? let's hope i don't get stuck permanently in the line.

well, keep it up! it's such a beautiful instrument. i used to play, too, until i sustained a nasty injury in my left hand. i stopped for several months to let it heal, but then i just didn't pick it up again. maybe i should...

ahh piano. That seems much harder to learn to me. Very cool. And singing well is a feat in itself.

no the violin is harder because you have to have a good ear as well. there are no frets on the fingerboard to aid you, so a good violinist has to 'pitch' with his/her hands.
i'm sure you know all that.
oh and not to mention the horrible unnatural position for the left hand? in my early days on the violin i sprained my left hand practicing and took about 4 months to recover.

Well I started at a pretty young age, something about being young helps you pick up stuff like that. But the largeness of a piano, and the multi-tasking with using both hands and more than one or two fingers at once seems overwhelming to me. Guitar is also difficult for me. I suppose we all have our different gifts.
