This is a very "samurai" piece. As many would know, a samurai was often seen as a free man in japan. When they were beaten or humiliated, to add insult to injury (in a sense) they would show their submission by having their hir cut off. The hair outfit was actualy a nice touch. A beautiful subject as well.
