I personally really would have wanted to see Kiara interact more with her mother. I mean Nala grew up during Scar's reign, having to hunt competitively against the hyenas in a dying land, then her hunting skills helped find her long lost friends, plus she helped fought alongside him during the fight for Pride Rock. It was a real shame that she didn't get much screentime. I definitely believe that she would be leader of the hunting party or at the very least one of the leads. Unfortunately, Kiara's optimism, energy, and lack of restrain make her a bit of a trial to teach, as her daughter's energetic personality doesn't translate well into sneaking quietly after prey.

I HC that a lioness' hunt is one of the biggest milestones for her and is accomplished in multiple stages. Trailing after the hunting party to learn the basics needed, hunting with a hunt leader(in this case Nala)(typically done multiple times for practice and experience), a solo hunt to determine their skills and level of preparedness, and finally completing a hunt with the hunting party to officially initiate them as a full-fledged huntress. Unfortunately for Kiara, she doesn't get to much time to practice, due to Simba's caution for the Outsiders still plotting, but Nala tries her best to give Kiara as much time and practice a she can give. I know that we don't see much between Nala and Kiara, but I like to see Nala as the encouraging, supportive, yet firm mother while Kiara is a bit flighty, yet determined student.

I based this picture off this one here , which is part of the TLK2 movie comic, though Kiara's pose was based off the movie's hunt scene.
