Description It's been awhile since I last did one of these. I've gotten a few more OC ideas that I want to get out for preparation of a family tree, so here we go. Here's the original challenge in case you're interested.

Tupa: Scar's Child

Tupa(discard) is one of the products of Scar's multiple affairs. After failing to secure a proper heir with Zira, Scar took to several of the other lionesses in the pride. After Tupa was born and discovered to be female, Scar refused to acknowledge her and kept trying with other ladies. After Simba's return, Scar's overthrowing, and the attempted assassination of the queen, Tupa went with the other Outsiders into exile. Told she must avenge her father by aiding in Kovu's plot to overthrow her cousin, she grew up a fierce, battle-ready solider, willing and ready to dive first into any scenario and sustain whatever ailment or injury just to aid in her cause.

After the war with the Pridelanders, in which she had her ear torn and her muzzle scratched, including have a bit of her lip torn as well, she was thankfully one of the Outsiders who saw past the veil they had been covered with and went over to the side of peace. She's still a fearsome, rugged lioness, but being in a less strenuous, impoverish environment has calmed her down a bit. Though she'll never really acknowledge her biological relationship to Simba and his family, she gets along well enough with them and will occasionally help with Kiara's less-than-stellar hunting techniques.

She later leaves with several pride sisters to start a new life at the Night Pride.

Nadra: The Lover

Nadra(precious) is Sarafina's mother and Nala's grandmother. Nadra's mother came from the neighboring pride along with Uangaze(Mohatu's mate) and Mahitaji(Selfish Lion) as part of a deal struck between their pride and the Prideland's pride to secure a betrothal in exchange for shared resources. Though the deal was tumultuous and nearly fell through due to a scheme from the other lion they had brought with them, they managed to secure a deal, exile their enemy, and restore peace through the prolonged drought.

Nadra, as daughter of Queen Uangaze's closest friend, was initially selected as a possible candidate for her son Ahadi's future queen. The two, plus their friend Naanda were the closest of friends growing up and it seemed that she would make a fine bride. That is until another drought struck the Pridelands and while searching for a solution to the rapidly declining kingdom a rogue lioness named Uru suddenly appeared, managed to save the kingdom by finding a new water source and winning the prince's heart all in one swoop. Nadra and Naanda, after being informed of their friend's previously secret friend and crush's history, took immediately towards befriending the future queen. Though without any significant roles, Nadra was perfectly fine with this and instead took to being the queen's advisor and one of her loyalist of friends. She had several children, including Sarafina and several of Askari's guard members.

She also did have several relationships with other pride members, including with Ahadi's brother Kiapo and Naanda at some point. Though they were just flings, she still remained invested in her friend's lives, becoming an aunt, godmother, and babysitter to the next generation. She's a charismatic, flirty lioness, yet has a good sense of humor and wit about her. She was one of the co-captains of the hunting party before passing that title down to Naanda's daughter Sarabi. Also her name is based off the original one for Nala, just thought it be a good way to connect her with her future granddaughter.

Jalidi: The Outcast

Jalidi(frost) is a rogue that hails from the Theluji mountains. Being a young male of the pride, he took the route of becoming a rogue and seeing the world and what wonders it had to hold. Unfortunately for him, he came across the Pridelands during the later half of Scar's reign and soon came into the attention of one Zira. Having bore a son to Scar, only to be cast aside when Nuka did not meet his standards, plus witnessing the many affairs Scar was having, Zira saw no reason to keep being loyal and thus sought out Jalidi for company.

This all came to an abrupt halt when Scar suddenly was overthrown and slain. His death caused a mental breakdown in Zira, sending a river of guilt for her infidelity. His death changed her and she vowed to redeem herself and prove her loyalty by avenging him. However, she would need more recruits. Her old pride would do nicely for a start, but she needed some more lions. So she continued her relationship with Jalidi and had a fling with Nala's brother Mheoto and once she had gotten pregnant she discarded both of them to the side. For Mheoto she caused a stampede and tried to frame him for attempted murder for his sister and brother-in-law, for Jalidi she clawed him and chased him out. Confused and hurt, Jalidi returned back to his homeland and pride, to where he remains to this day. He never knew about Zira's pregnancy and thus never knew he had a son who would later go on to be the future king of the Pridelands.

He's a leucitic lion by the way, not full-on albino, just really pale. His pelt is ideal for the wintery scenery and is extremely fluffy. He's a rather quiet, introverted sort. He doesn't mind company, but would rather be on his own most of the time. After his disastrous relationship with Zira it took him a long time to find love again, but he eventually settled down with one of the lionesses in his pride. He's not really an outcast in the traditional sense, as it was his own decision to leave his pride

Uangaze: Mohatu's Mate

Uangaze(shine). Nice to be able to talk about her again. Uangaze is the daughter of one of the neighboring prides' rulers and was betrothed to Mohatu as part of a deal in exchange for aid during one of the worst droughts in history. At first Uangaze was very uncertain about the arrangement. She had been raised all her life to be a dutiful, exemplary wife and lioness, yet her chosen beloved was extremely.. odd. Mohatu was strong, intelligent, and dutiful yes, but he was also witty, humorous, a bit of a dork, and was not at all what she had expected. The lion was twice her size, yet playfully romped around and teased her. He offered to take her places and talk, to get to know her before she accepted any proposal. She spared her concerns and thoughts with the two other lions that had come with her, Nadra's mother and Mahitaji(aka The Selfish lion). While the latter had his own agenda and ideas about the entire issue, the former encouraged Uangaze to open up and be more welcoming towards Mohatu's advancements. It was a good thing she took that advice, for despite the arrangement taking a sharp, dangerous turn that nearly sent the two prides into war, Uangaze managed to avert them back to peace and found herself falling heavily for Mohatu.

As queen Uangaze is stern, no-nonsense, and pragmatic, though those who get to know her get to see a softer side underneath. She has a bit of humor about her and can be very witty. She also deeply loves her two sons, Ahadi and Kiapo. Unfortunately for her, her past life, being taught how to be a dutiful, completely loyal wife and an example for how a lioness should be like, it has made her a bit snooty, judgmental, and proud. When Uru first was accepted in the pride and was immediately introduced as Ahadi's girlfriend, she wasn't very impressed. A rogue, Tsavo lioness, covered with scars, cold and antisocial, unused to being a pride, not good pride member material, much less as future queen. Thankfully, through getting to know her more and learning about her past, Uangaze felt sympathy for the poor, scarred lioness and took her under her wing. Though the two butted heads a bit, the two soon found a middle-ground where a mother-daughter bond could be forged.

Matope: The Huntress

I've been wanting to do this one for a long time. I've mentioned her several times before in previous pictures, so let's not delay any further. Matope(mud) is the mother of Shabaha and Imara, the cousin to both Tula and Zira, and was part of the Outsiders. Her story is rather short and sad.

Matope was part of the Outsiders before they were called that. As part of a rogue pride of lionesses that stumbled into the Pridelands during Scar's reign, they were quickly assimilated in in order to increase the number of rapidly declining pride members that were still loyal to Scar. When Simba returned, he allowed back in his brother-in-law Mheoto. Matope fell hard and fast for him, not knowing Zira was also pursuing him for her own selfish purposes at the time. While Mheoto wasn't really parental material at the time or into deeply committed relationships, he did greatly enjoy Matope's company and probably would've stuck with her had Zira not messed everything up for both him and her.

Through a series of unfortunate events, Zira managed to get Mheoto exiled under false charges in order to disguise her plans of overthrowing Simba in order to avenge Scar. She was thankfully caught in time before she did any long lasting damage, but was swiftly exiled along with her followers. Matope didn't want to leave, as she did not share her cousin's hatred of the Pridelanders and devotion to Scar, but felt as though she had no say in the matter. In the Outlands, she gave birth to two daughters, Imara and Shabaha. When she realized that Zira had also given birth to Mheoto's daughter, she kept quiet on the matter, not wanting to seem like a traitor and to spare her girls the anger and hurt she felt towards having lost a potential mate and father.

Though Matope always was a strong lioness and an excellent hunter, the pregnancy and new environment took a toll on her. She started getting very sick, not helped by the lack of food and her giving up her portions in order to feed her daughters. She ends up so malnourished that during a hunt she collapses and cannot get up. With her last dying breath she asks Zira to make sure that her daughters are taken care of, though not knowing of what their fate would be. Thankfully for her, her daughters would eventually find out the truth about their origin and their father would come back into their lives, so her wish for them to be happy and have a father wasn't left to die with her.

Also, in this universe here , she doesn't end up dying and gives up her daughters to Mheoto to raise. She eventually reunites with the two later in their lives and they accept her back into theirs, making them a whole family.

Kiapo: Wild Card

Another character stuck in the back of my mind for a while now. Kiapo(vow) is the secondborn son of Mohatu and Uangaze and the leader of the Lion Guard. Sharing his mother's great size and his mother's looks and personality, Kiapo was a dutiful, respectful leader who aided in forging new allies, expanded borders, and helped managed kingdom affairs. That last one is probably the most notable.

After Uru's untimely death and his brother's subsequent spiral into depression, Kiapo helped take the reigns as substitute king. Though his brother was well known and beloved for all that he had done and his monumental actions, his wife's death took the spark and light out of everything he did. While Ahadi could manage to get up and do some things, such as take his sons out on a walk and reminisce about their mother ad the good times they had, there was little else he could do aside from maybe having the strength to give Mufasa his lessons. His his older brother no longer capable of serving and ruling, Ahadi willingly let Kiapo reign in his stead, helping manage the kingdom and raise his sons in his depressive absence. This continued all the way until Ahadi died of a broken heart and allowed the role and title of king to fall completely onto his shoulders until his son could rule.

Kiapo certainly did do his best to try and help his the kingdom and raise his two, teenage, now orphaned nephews. In the beginning of his life, he had actually been considered as a candidate for king before Ahadi showed his worth and leadership skills, so he had some insight of how to manage a kingdom and teach the elder son how to become a king. Mufasa, though he had barely been an adult now, was managing to deal with his feelings of loss and was showing promise as the future king. Askari was made leader of the Lion Guard and seemed to be dealing well with what had happened. Kiapo vowed to keep his oath to his brother to raise his nephews up and he really did try his best. However some things were out of his control.

Having lost his mother, been unintentionally neglected by his depressed dad, and now being shunted off to the side by his uncle in favor for teaching his brother how to be king, the young Askari started down a dark path. Kiapo, as former Lion Guard leader, had promised to teach him how to be the leader of the Lion Guard, even passing down the mantle as the fiercest and the roar, plus even some of his own guard members, as a show of good faith in his abilities, however there is only so much time in the day and once king and de-facto guardian, could only spend so much time with one boy. As we know, Askari was lead astray by the Strange Lion, Mkali, was poisoned both physically and mentally by him, and fell down the path of anger and hate. By the time Kiapo noticed his younger nephew slipping, it was too late. After killing both his team, and the unfortunately close-by Mtoto , Askari, now calling himself Scar, realized that he was in danger of being caught by his uncle and former mentor. Claiming that his roar was used to take care of invading rogues which unfortunately cost him the lives of his team, he asked his uncle if he could help retrieve the bodies for a proper funeral. Needless to say, once they reached the Outands where the incident had happened, a seventh life was claimed, not including the strange lion who had caused this whole mess. A lie about rogue enemies in the area, a funeral and shift in power later, Kiapo was buried, being given a proper ruler's and guard's funeral for his service. Askari sat behind his now-king brother, shedding false tears as mourned the loss of his uncle.

As far as history says, Kiapo never married or had any kids, however he did have a fling with Naanda and some other lionesses, so he possibly could've had offspring?*

There we go, I'm glad to have gotten many of these out of the way. Judging by the stories, I think the split between happy/sad endings turned out well. Some of these backstories I've had for quite awhile, some of them were came up with right on the spot, and a few had somewhat of a storyline but needed to be expanded upon. In any case, I'm glad to have these taken care of and to have some busts for an upcoming family tree in the works.

Additionally, while I was making this, I accidently made Naanda/the Selfish Lion for the Huntress/Outcast spots respectively before realizing this challenge specifically asked for OCs and not fanon characters. Since I already made two head busts/HCs for them, expect to see another one of these challenges soon.

*Cough cough maybe Tazama as a grandaughter cough cough future picture idea maybe cough.
