My dream of seeing the cartoon world for real had turned into a nightmare. The Toons had quickly turned on me.

I ran down the abandoned highway. My bare soles were scorched every time they slapped the rough burning hot tarmac. The toons were now hot on my heels.

So far, they'd employed all sorts of devilish tricks and traps. I'd been chased through thick bramble and thorn bushes, I'd received too many mousetraps and mallets to count on my by now very sore fingers and toes, I'd even had a pitch fork too the butt. I was literally throbbing from head to toe. The cartoon world was not for me!
