They definitely do. Best tape I find is microfoam. It's veeeery effective, even with only one strip.

Must hold the lips well despite the muscle.

It's really stretchy, so no matter how you move your mouth, it'll just stretch with you, then spring back into place.

Then you add a spongeball and that gag stays in place very well.
