Simon was born and raised in Last Notch. Born into a family of leatherworkers, he'd been brought up with the craft.
His family, himself included, believe that leatherworking is in their blood, rooted in their DNA as much as protecting smaller and more colorful wyngrew is in a female Ori's.....

Many wyngrew tend to disrespect him and his family, seeing them as lesser for their craft. The Gumbuckles don't even seem to respect them, acting like they, and their craft, are far more disposable than them... and they're the leaders. If they don't respect them, who will?

Simon vows that he will prove his craft's worth or die trying.

PERSONALITY

Simon is quite proud of his trade and because of this, he seemingly hates the Gumbuckles, as they require his services for their way of life here, but they still disrespect the art. He still puts his all into stuff made on commission for the Gumbuckles, but he always has to slip in something undesired, just to get a bit of revenge for their attitude.

He's not quite the social gro, and is far more happy to be working than talking to others. If you get him on the topic of Leatherworking, he'll ramble on and on about it, and he's honestly highly willing to teach if you're wlling to learn.... problem is not many are willing to learn, so he doesn't teach.
