"It was dark, as it normally was. Outside the walls of safety I could hear noises.... Such strange noises. Otherwise, it was rather normal..... But then I felt cold... Strangely cold.... Until I didn't. It was an odd sensation, but I wasn't inclined to care.... Until it grew warmer...and warmer.... I heard a soft thumping, as if something was approaching... I pounded at the walls that once claimed to be safe, but whatever was out there didn't seem to bother helping me escape. I continued to pound and scrape with what little strength I had, feeling myself rock a bit as I moved.

Finally I broke through, pushing myself free of the heat into the cool dark room. I laid on the cold hard surface for a moment in peace.... exhausted from my adventure to this new world outside my shell. No later than the moment I thought I was finished with strange new things for the day did a creature much larger than myself place something around my neck. Once released from their grasp, something cold and hard remained resting against my chest. I lofted my head to see a pair of glowing red lights pointed in my direction.... Lights I will not soon forget. The creature made an odd but familiar sound before lifting me from my shattered bubble of safety and placing me into the arms of another. I protested by attemting to recreate the sounds made but to no avail, and I was much too weak from my initial escape to fight.

I saw the red lights fade as I and the other gained height, leaving behind my safe walls for a room brightened by many small lights. I was placed on a soft surface with a squishy texture, and abandoned.... or so I thought. I curled into a shape not too different from what I had been in within the walls of safety... but as my eyes fluttered shut, I saw them..... A legion of them.... staring at me...."
