Description
When I whispered, "I want to fly"and the world came crashing down,
you shook your head with abandonment.
As if you were ever sorry.
The clouds eventually turned to dust.
Blood-red, they choked me with my dreams.
The white daisies I used to love
grew far past their limitations.
And each day, I'd shiver underneath
the bright blue heat of the sun.
Because broken wings and hidden things
weren't always what I thought.
But you stood at the edge of the ruins,
whispering sweet, mingled comforts.
The red, the white and the blue
were blasphemies on your taste buds.
You pushed me down each convoluted path;
I always slipped through another.
"You should have known," I grimaced.
You should have known forever.

This is an intense piece, but a beautiful one. Reading it was a very cathartic experience.

Thank you very much! Considering I write poetry only from my own experiences, this is exactly the type of thing I like to hear - the fact that what I write can appeal to others on an emotional level. <3
Thank you immensely for commenting!

You are so welcome, you deserved more than a "great" as a comment. I think poetry from one's experiences is usually the best, as we know our subects the most intimately.
