Description Remember this lineart? Yeah, I finally grew some and decided to tackle this, but instead of worrying about silly things like color, I'm doing it in grayscale... for now. Just to suss out the lighting before I go in and figure out color.

So, this is a work in progress of that! Tell me what you think.

I'm not quite sure yet exactly but I know it can be done. I figure it's something to do with layer settings and such. I'll definitely post how I end up doing it when I figure it out.

The values look great so far. Really makes the depth of the image much more believable. I'm wanna see it finished.

Looks awesome! I really like the contrast you implemented in it. When I first saw the line art I imagined that this image would be extremely well lit. But I really like how you made it so dark! I can't wait to see the finished product!

See, when I was first drawing it and through my first attempts to color it I imagined it being well lit as well, and I think that's why I never got any finished product out of it that I liked. Once I switched to this it just makes more sense somehow. XD we'll see.

Heh, honestly I think I like it dark better anyways. Again, I can't wait to see this finished so I can add it to my favorites list

i think the light from the candles on/around the tree would give out more light, especially lighting the bark and the lights hung in the tree would light the trunk of the tree more. I can't weight to see this coloured though!
