Finally got one of my characters done for a flash comic I'll be doing later on. It was hard to come up with the uniform. I ended up getting inspiration from the Assassin's Creed attire. I'm still trying out different coloring techniques and I must say that I love Photoshop filters. I love using the Poster Edge filters. It gives the drawing a more comic book style like in Telltale games.I had to redraw the goggles so many times I lost count, but I absolutely love them.
The gun on the other hand was a pain in the ass. It's easy to draw those regular revolvers or the modern magazine clip ones, but a flintlock was hard. Mainly because of the positioning of the trigger and the cock compared to how the grip is extended and curved. I don't even know if I got the proportioning right. 
But I decided to model the gun after a Queen Anne pistol (which he has two). It's going to be a bit more modernized when it comes to reloading, though. 
Anyway, I'm not gonna tell you what D.L. stands for except for the fact that it's an abbreviation for the title. You're welcome to guess, though
Oh and as you can tell, I'm going to be using vibrant colors a lot in this ;D I think mainly green, blue, and red I'll make vibrant. But, all of the characters eyes will definitely be vibrant colors.

So why did you make the revolver design so "Old-Western" styled?
It wasn't hard to miss.

It's a Queen Anne (tried to be). Made in England. They were used for protection when walking along streets or in any public place and were highly decorated to suit one's taste. They were extremely customized by the wealthy. And it's not a revolver, it's a Flintlock. It uses a flint, gun powder, and a round, spherical bullet. I gave the character this type of gun to be unique in weapon design and because he comes from a family who specializes in customizing, modernizing, and refurbishing guns.

Odd thing for a "modernizing" family to use, but looks cooler than any M16 I've ever seen.

Modernizing as in taking something old and adding parts or replacing parts to fit with modern tech. But for this case, they replaced the barrel and the grip. Since the gun was made in the 17-1800s, it didn't have a spiraling barrel on the inside so it was prone to missing the target a lot. So his gun now has a spiral barrel so that it won't miss the target as much. The grip on the inside was change to act as a magazine clip. That way, reloading won't take long and he won't have to reload every single bullet. In the grip it has to slots: one clip for the bullets and another for sectioning off certain amounts of gun powder if that makes sense. So now it's like a regular gun with modern bullets. The outside is just a style. For show, you could say

Nice, my brother bought a sort of replica of an old-western gun from an Anime convention a few years ago (Geekcon I wanna say?) and it looks very similar to this. Except for a few minor details that you would probably except with anything.

How come "professional" artists tend to be the most elitist and prickish? And not just toward painting and pictures, but any kind of artistic medium? (Music, writing, sculpting, etc)
Random person: I like it, it looks nice with well shading, reasonable textures, and a well-shaped beauty that's mesmerizing. A+
Professional: Terrible! It's all terrible! The shading has no personality, the transition of light-dark colors makes it look like it was done by a drunk Irishman, and the overall atmosphere it carries makes me want to puke! D-

They dedicate themselves to it and have several years of practice, so compared to any normal person they're going to be very critical. Either take the criticism or don't. But professionals aren't the only ones who spout that kind of stuff to people. Not all elite artists say those kinds of things though. They might point out the flaws more than the good aspects, but doesn't everyone? I'm good friends with an elite artist and he never says those kinds of things to anyone. He's encouraging and gives critique that does point out the good and bad. But when someone insults a drawing like that, all you can do is just get over it. Dwelling on what they said isn't going to make anything better. I mean you can, but do it in a positive way. For instance, I was rejected from submitting one of my works to an elite group where they accept only high quality work. I was upset sure, but I got over it and kept trying to submit even better works and eventually got in.
Anyway, elite artists aren't the only ones who criticize. Everyone does it.

Depends on who she was around. Around others she was kind of a "preppy, joking" girl. Around me she showed her inside thoughts... She's the same person who told me:

I was going to say that she may have grown tired of being around the negativity. Usually the more upbeat people tend to not like hanging around the more negative people because it makes them feel.. bad. She could be trying to get away from the past and all the things that make her feel bad. It's kinda like how I broke up with my ex. I couldn't stand his negativity anymore. He had nothing good to say and he always talked about killing people he didn't like and what not, so I told him it wasn't working out and left him. And then he started being an extreme prick... Anyway, she might not hate you personally, just your attitude. I'm not saying that's the reason, but it's a possibility

Β You don't understand... It's easy to loo at me now and deduct that I'm a negative person, because I am. But back then? I was a generally playful, joking guy with only a few bouts of complete sadness. And she was there to make me feel better. We joked, we played around, we laid together on the grass and did nothing... Overall, if anyone was negative, it was here. Bad anxiety, dental problems, depression problems, and other shit. I had similar problems with depression, but it was genuinely becoming better the more I talked with her. Now it's worse than it was last year....
