Description
This is something I doodled up while at work recently.It always irked me how Pokemon had all these unoriginal creatures, yet there was no Dolphin-inspired Pokemon.
That's originally why I made this, but now I think I like her so much, that I'm not sure I wanna call her a Pokemon.
Either way, this is Saphoise.
So far, I figure the species name is Crysphin.
I'm very happy with how this turned out, and I hope you all enjoy it as well.

It's probably more accurate to say that there are no Pokemon based mostly on dolphins; Lanturn, Kyogre, and Vaporeon share some traits with dolphins, but obviously are more closely based on anglerfish, whales, and felines, respectively. Your point that no Pokemon are actually inspired from dolphins is right, though, which surprised me; I honestly thought that Gorebyss was a dolphin until I looked it up just now and found that it was really more of an eel.
Perhaps there could be "aquatic-form Lateon," because it certainly looks awe-inspiring enough. I'm always jealous of your ability to "doodle stuff up at work," since I'm lucky if I can motivate myself to finish anything at all. Good show, good show!

lol, dude. I have such trouble getting myself to sit down and actually draw something.
When I do, it's cool most of the time. But I'm just lazy. lol
I plan on making a sort of shark-counterpart to the Porcryst.
So expect something a bit more brutal looking.

you know, I wanted to know the very same thing. I love Dolphins, and yet there are no Dolphin-like Pokemon.
well, you could call it a pokemon, it's unique enough. but on the other have, it could be a species all of you own.
and I really love this picture, she is so pretty and cool looking. I love all the glowing parts and overall design. love the tail, it it so... well, can't think of anything it's so good. love the fins too, how there's two large ones right by the dorsal fin, looks a lot like wings. the same with the smaller ones farther down her back. her two fins under her look like blades to me, which is very cool, even if their really not blades. I love that shade of blue of her back, so rich in color and very smooth. and those neon blue diamonds along her sides really make her pop with color. and I really like those glowing parts on her forehead and at the end of the rods off her larger fins.
there isn't a single thing about her I dislike, but that's my opinion. and I apologize if I identified anything on her wrongly.

The aquatic Pokemon are left to be either fat, slim or just strange looking fish, and not really animal-based, like swordfish or flying fish. Same with water starters, but oh well. I think the artwork here is very fantastic, and doesn't need to be a Pokemon to be loved. I think she looks fantastic

And yeah, you'd think that after 5 generations of Pokemon, there'd be at least one dolphin-resembling one.
