Inspired by the trend all these wonderful artist have done: Proud of Our Girl , So Exciting , This is Wonderful and Court of the Queen and wanted to join in and do my own version!

From left to right:

Kuishi: [name meaning: Survive] Mother of Umoja , Chumvi and Kula. Her mate is Tofali; Ahadi's best friend from childhood at their old pride. Kuishi and Tofali fell in love at a bad time as the drought and famine got worse, they decided it would be best to go to the pridelands asking for refuge. Ahadi offered that Kuishi could remain in the pridelands with her cub Umoja while Tofali continued his lifelong dream of exploring the world. Tofali promised Kuishi that he would always return to visit and remain loyal to her no matter what. It was then after Umoja was exiled from the pridelands, a distraught Kuishi begged Tofali if they could have cubs again. Chumvi and Kula were born not long after Simba's birth.

Amani: [name meaning: Peace] Sarafina's mate and father of Nala and Mheetu. He's a Tsavo lion from the Red lands, a known trait of lions from his homeland is being maneless. He was saved by the lion guard as a cub when he got lost and tried using a tree to look around. Amani is very positive and goes out of his way to assure those around him are happy. He's Mufasa's best friend and deeply in love with Sarafina. He's a strict follower of the Circle of Life, only eating when needed. Sarafina and him were an extremely affectionate lovey dovey couple until one day just before their cubs were born, Sarafina and his relationship were strained due to an event causing a huge argument.

Sarafina: [name meaning: Bright Star] Mother of Nala and Mheetu. Her family lived for generations in the pridelands alongside the royal family, having been blessed to live in the Kingdom's light and knowing little of the outside land. She was so excited to meet Amani, a lion from the dusty Red lands and quite a distance away from the pridelands. Amani and her would play together and explore all the time. They were counterparts to each other, Sarafina was strong and courageous while Amani was cautious and clever. Sarafina also became best friends with Sarabi once her and her sisters were introduced to the pride. When Nala and Mheetu were born, Sarafina was ecstatic at the offer of her daughter being betrothed to the newborn prince.

Diku: [name meaning: Somewhere] Mother of Tama. Sarabi and Naanda's sister. She was born moments after Sarabi, being the middle child. The sisters are all from the small Oasis pride, who merged with the Pridelands after Ahadi and Uru saved them from their King/father after he killed the fourth sister, Dwala. Diku is the one who carries all the burdens and emotions among the three after the loss of Dwala. Sarabi is now emotionally strong thanks to Diku's comforting voice and shoulder to cry on after all that has happened. Diku's a wonderful hunter, only bested by Sarabi. She tends to keep quiet about her own personal life from the pride and no one knows who the father of Tama is.

Naanda: [name meaning: Preparing] Mother of Tojo and Mtoto. Sarabi and Diku's youngest sister. She's rather clumsy and not the best of hunters due to her height. She suffers a lot of guilt with being not a good hunter and how much better her sisters are at it. She doesn't think before she speaks and often says her thoughts out loud. Those thoughts tend to be of the unpopular opinion or what everyone else is too afraid to say. Her best friend is Kuishi and the two work together raising their cubs. The father of her cubs is Tanglemane and she doesn't like to talk about it.

There we go!! Got a chance to finally draw Sarabi's sisters. They are a bit generic looking but I wanted them to be more on point with the lionesses in the background of the movies. Amani is where Kion gets his small tuff from and more importantly- why Kion will never get a full mane; those Tsavo genes are strong. Working on this really helped my art block so I'm happy I got to finish this!
