Eeeeee e.e I imagine that the core transfer would involve tearing out their actual core that has their 'brain' in it, rather carelessly too, along with their eye and any other vital parts, then reassembling them onto whatever, only putting on the shell(the rounded outside shell of Wheatley, for instance) on after whoever's in control of the facility is 'properly' in place.
