Well, just got a new dog, I got a new dog, I needed something that I could attack with colored pencils (I am horrible with them, so need practice using them), I wanted to draw Droe something, and I am trying to do at least one drawing a day. Thus, dogs. The deer like creature on the left is Kobar (blue heeler mix), and the mischievous puppy on the right is Droe's Rottweiler, Piker. I'm just scanning this in now as I have never managed to produce anything that didn't look like cat barf with colored pencils, so I wanted to have something to show Droe before I kill it. She's a husky/shepherd/lab mix. She's ten months old and full of energy XD I have a couple pictures of her from when she was six weeks old in my gallery if you wanna look.

You could, to practice color and to keep the original sketch intact, photo copy the sketch and/or trace your sketch, then color the copy.

Aye, that's a great suggestion ESDA, but I'm trying to wean myself off of trace-over and digital methods. I'm finding that I miss the problem solving of working with original linework without the option of an undo button or backup picture, so I'm trying to relearn how to just get in there and color away.

Ever tried Prisma Colored pencils? They're fun to mess around with but cost an arm and a leg. I found my set by chance when the art store was going out of business and everything was 70-90% off. They're something like $1.32 per pencil...

I think so, and I'm afraid I was even more horrid with those than the really cheap ones! XD I will check them out again though, thanks for the recommendation.
