Upolu Point is the most northern point on the island of Hawaii. It is an extruding landform created by cooled lava from a (very) old eruption from Mauna Kea.This small wind farm sits along the road that leads to the aptly named Upolu Point Airport. The airport is right on the coast and has one small runway with no tower. It is also the road (4x4 only) to the Mookini Heiau. A Hawaiian heiau (temple) constructed in 480 AD and is dedicated to KΕ«, the HawaiΚ»ian god of war. It was a closed heiau reserved exclusively for fasting, praying and offering of human sacrifices to their gods.

Great sky and lovely light..but I'd have prefered to see the fans on motion (these things always look a little strange "frozen", and a little more prominant in the composition

I played around with them moving in the same composition but it just was not working. To long on the shutter and they disappear - to short and they just look dragged. There was also a problem with the composition when I had them moving -- This is an old wind farm and they are not spending any money on keeping these old turbines working (they just built a new larger farm on the south point of the island) so some are spinning and some are not. The ones in the background were not moving so it looks really strange (to me anyway) to have some moving and some frozen.
