I made it that way to have a strong connection, Shadow has a much smaller butt than Tails so there's less to anchor the tail to.

Ahh I didn't even consider that.  I also noticed that you modified the feet, does that mean it can stand on it's own or is it resting on the tail as support?

well the body stood fine before the tail was attached, though with how long and heavy it is he wouldn't stand without it touching the ground unless he was leaning way forward so his head could act as a counterweight.

it could stand before?  I don't have Shadow so I assumed like Jazware Sonic it couldn't stand without help.
Also you would know this, do the Tomy Boom figures have articulation of any kind?

I've made video reviews of the entire Sonic Boom line, they have slightly more articulation than an Imaginext figure, except for cubot and orbot that are static.  Because of the shape of his shoes the Shadow figure is always easier to stand than Sonic (though I HAVE been able to stand Sonic too) but since this one has a much smaller head it balanced much easier.
