Thought I'd show off one of my birthday presents, the gamecube style controller for the Nintendo Switch, in comparison to the original Wavebird wireless controller for the original gamecube (which I STILL use to play some games because it IS compatible...even though Wii U controllers aren't...) I'm going to say it, the Gamecube had the PERFECT controller, and no other console has ever made anything as good as it, the control sticks had perfect resistance and the octagonal setting made it easier to keep a character moving smoothly or put in directional inputs, every face button had a different size and shape allowing you to feel out the controller instead of having to memorize the positions (this made QTEs so intuitive that it became literally impossible to do them on any other system, if you'll remember my "Sonic Unleashed is unplayable on the 360" rant) and this updated version fixes the controller's only flaws; that being it now has 2 shoulder bumpers instead of only one, and the D-pad is bigger and more comfortable to use (it also has the "click" thing where the control sticks are also buttons, but that's new tech, not a flaw of old technology.) Thanks to the...18? years of technological advancement the electronics have been sufficiently miniaturized such that the shape doesn't need to be compromised even though it still runs on 2 AA batteries, and it has all of the extra buttons needed to access the menus and stuff for the system, allowing me to seamlessly play any switch game I want with my favorite controller instead of having to keep the joycons next to me to quit out or something. Me and this controller are going to have some GOOD times together
