Devilbat: Detective Without Fear! Another original Amalgam of my own design using DC's Batman and Marvel's Daredevil.There's not too much I have to say other than I am pretty happy with how this turned out.

i did an amalgam batman too, but i just threw in a chinzy background cuz i wanted to finish but i like the actual character. check him out, BTW really dig your mashup

I cannot hate on Darkclaw because he was one of their "surprising but fun" fusions, but this was the obvious pick and yours looks great.
I do have to ask... any relation to the Daredevil/Batman fusion that ran in an issue of Wizard: The Guide to Comics? I remember they ran a contest (I think unrelated to Marvel Vs. DC - crossing characters has always been fun) and that is where I first saw a Batman/Daredevil fusion... as well as a sweet She-Hulk/Wonder Woman Amalgam called Gammazon, a pretty cool Superman/Thor amalgam called "Stormbringer", and what I thought was a brilliant Blue Beetle/Spider-Man fusion called The Blue Spider (so the name wasn't as cool as the actual fusion).

As cool as Dark Claw was, this Amalgam is SO much better. I would TOTALLY read this comic. He only needs a better name. This is one where you might have to look outside the original characters for a name... I'd go with... "The Hellbat." As in "Bat out of..." It rolls off the tongue a bit better.

you've got to get into more of our illustration jams on the Third Rail Design Lab's R3 Forum, Wal... I often do redesigns on whatever character was chosen that week...
and all the existing jams remain open indefinitely, so you can add to them retroactively.

Doctor Midnite/Daredevil might've been a better fit but this is more mainstream and recognizable.

My Amalgam idea for Dr. Midnite is with Marvel's Moon Knight. He will either be called Mid-Knight or Dr. Mid-Knight.

I just meant that since both Doctor Midnite and Daredevil are blind (Midnite can only see in complete darkness), they would compliment each other.

Awesome. Better than Dark Claw (Wolverine+Batman). Love the character and the design. These two always seemed to be a great match, and you've done a fine job putting their costumes together, aside from needing a darker red for the costume, to blend into the darkness.
Incidentally, "The Devil Bat" was the name of an old Bela Lugosi movie.

Impressive. I can kinda see Daredevil as Marvel's equiv of Batman, given that they both use symbols of fear in their costumes (devil and bat, respectively). So the combo works.
As for origin... hard to say. Both lost parents, which serves as their motivations to fight crime. The blindness/enhanced senses angle I'm having trouble figuring out, either in childhood before the murder or after during training. Definitely keep the lawyer thing, with the Waynes/Murdocks being successful lawyers with their own firm that Devilbat inherits.

You know all you need now is a back story to him and you've got your self and offical not so offical Amalgam Comic book character. So is he a blind lawyer? Or a millionare playboy? Or is he a millionare lawyer? Or a Blind playboy?
