Decided to test one of the Vampire Bride 3 textures we're going to be releasing soon, and decided it would be fun to actually use some of my new toys as well

pointlights are great "dramatic" devices for that purpose, if you were going for realistic lighting though you might have to figure some other way to get ambient light to focus.

I'm hoping to get my hands on the new pointlight for studio that's been released, I've heard it works much better than the original. Same with the new spotlight.

heh heh. i have the spotlight, somewhere in my folders of stuff yet to be installed. have yet to get the pointlight. will have to try to remember to try the spot, but that entails reading about how to use an advanced light effectively. i like the idea of the gels though.

Gels can be fun, though personally I'd love it if they gave us Noise and Turbulence generation, especially in lights. It allows some neat effects, ie far more realistic animatable fire.

yes, all sorts of particle effects and things like fire are needed. guess we'll see what 2k8 has in store.

Well there is that particle plugin that came out, though I have no idea how well it works. Is unfortunate that pw decided to scap his particle system he was working on.

One of your best. I love the atmosphere in it. And I love sometimes having portraits offcentered. Not only technically do they tell you to do this with some professional photography, but it makes her look all the more 'human' in a way. And also good use of Wrens stock at the back! Was a perfect background for the window! Love this one
