Sooo, I recently got into Jim Henson's Labyrinth.Okay, I guess that's a bit of a lie, really. I actually fell in love with it, like, a year ago, through fanfiction and *Pika-la-Cynique 's GND andΒ *AsheRhyder 's Roommates. And I'm not just interested; I've become a bit obsessed. Like, I watched it five times in a row one day. O_O
Expect more laby art in the future!
Because I really love this movie.

Today the Bowie song "Underground" came on while waiting in the pickup line at my kid's school, and my 4yo yelled out "Mom! Is that the Goblin King?" and I thought: Parenting Win.

Hahaha, so cute! I've been trying to get all my little cousins to watch it (and sing "Dance Magic Dance"), but they're all like, "It looks stupid. And he looks like a girl." And I feel like I've failed life.

Ohmyword, dude, seriously, this has become one of my favourite movies. Right up there with Narnia and the Princess Bride. I tell ya, go WATCH IT!
Β I think one of the reasons I love it (besides how pretty the Goblin King is :3) is the fact that it's so... fantastical. And fluffy. I love fantasy, and I think fantasy movies are twenty times better when they're more child-geared. Aaaand it was made in the '80s. '80s seem pretty cool. And it's by Jim Henson. He was so cuuuuute!
