I must admit that I like NECA's stuff, cheap and fancy action figures, with great headsculpts. I started their ALIENS line 2 years ago with Hicks and Hudson here.Alas, these two guys were not sold with their iconic helmets, so I decided to create them in resin, so that my Marines would look way better in the diorama I was building at the same time.
I sculpted them out of wax upon a spare NECA Schwartzenegger head, then cast them in one piece (except the microphone) in dental resin using a gelatin mold. Diameter of each is approximately 2cm. The boomers were made with a thin metal wire I bended.
A little paintjob later, my first two USCM were ready to kick ass in my Hive diorama.
I made another one later with the same wax sculpt, for the third Marine I bought (it appears in a previous picture in my gallery).
They're not absolutely screen accurate as you can obviously notice, but you can't miss they are USCM helmets on the first look, so they do the job just fine to me.
