Watch the first 3 episodes of Star Gate Universe. White sand gets very very hot in the day, and f'ing cold at night. Plus, how do you know it's a desert planet? All they know is that the Star Gate is near a dried up lake.

... And they were looking for lime stone to create an calcium chlorate based carbon dioxide scrubber. It's similar to how the Apollo 13 vessel made there carbon scrubber to remove the CO2 gas that was building up after they had an explosion. The only difference was they used lithium instead of calcium from lithium batteries they had in stock and pushed the gas down an air tube from the oxygen vent where they made a cardboard box rapped in a plastic ziplock bag to seal as much of the CO2 gas in side, then used a sock to hold back the lithium paste which would force the oxygen to go through and the CO2 to combine with the lithium. And the good news is, if anyone on Destiny had heart burn, they would just need to swallow that gray calcium goo that's filled with carbon (also known as chock) and it would instantly give you releaf, but it would also taste really really bad and raise your blood pressure.

So basically wouldn't help with the guy who had Hyper Tension and needed a Kidney Transplant in Season 2.

Watch the series. He ran out of his meds, and they didn't have a machine that could do that. The database on the ship said the only thing possible was a kidney transplant.

No I saw it, I have it on DVD. And your right, you would need a kidney transplant to fix the problem. What I was saying, I was unclear on is that dialysis removes toxins from your body that your kidneys cannot, but you can't do that for ever. It only slows down the degradation of your body for a temporary length of time. So basically dialysis only buys you more time to get your kidneys fixed so you don't die sooner.
