It looks so calm. How did you manage to do that? O.o Where you tagging them or something?

Awwww. I helped out in tagging stations before - but those birds are afraid when you hold them.
We once tagged wild geese - young ones - and I held them while the others gave them their rings and measured them, and I had the feeling that they were calmer with me than with the others. When you feel their fear you try to be shining with calmness and let them bite you if it helps them. So yeah... it's a very hearttouching thing to do :3

A visit to a state park [ Wrightwood, So. Cal] during a severe drought, all water was turned off. The birds being so desperate for water, gave up their instincts and replaced with trust. Within a short time, they were drinking puddles of water from our hand. I felt so honored by their trust, and humbled into sadness. We left every drop of water [even our ice] we had when we left. As a guy, I felt no shame in shedding tears as we drove away.
Just seeing this photo reminds me of that time.
Thanks.

Wow, how did you do that?
I've always wondered how birds' feathers feel like...are they fluffy or smooth? Sorry for that question.

Incredible! How did you get him to land on your hand, and how did you do it...besides trust, of course.

haha so people keep mentioning the name, maybe a word play on trusting and the bird, which might be a Thrush? Wonderful photo by the way!

Haha i also thought it was a word play on the birds name (which I persumed was a Thrush) and "Trusting" until I read the comments x)
