PLEASE READ: The bird in this photo is deceased: I found this Chipping sparrow, Spizella passerina, lying in the grass in my yard. It was a bit sad because they are one of my favourite sparrow species, but that's how life goes. I don't know how it died, and I couldn't find any obvious injuries. Whatever the case, I thought it would be a good opportunity to take some very detailed photos of the wings and feathers and post it on DA in the hopes that artists who draw birds and non-avian theropods would find it particularly useful.
