Anyone notice how every Sonic cartoon or anime ends their series without a proper ending?Sonic the Hedgehog technically never ended because of that cliffhanger in "The Doomsday Project".
Sonic and his siblings never found their mom in Sonic Underground.
Sonic OVA never got the chance to shine.
Sonic and his friends were heading off to find Eggman after what he did to Chris Thorndyke in the ending of Sonic X.
Now Sonic Boom... will it end with a bang or a boom?

Boom hardly has any overarching story (nearly none) and the "humor" is just obvious pandering to the fanbase. So I am guessing Boom will most likely just fizzle out quietly, and unlike the previous shows which are still strong with the fans (like SatAM and X) Boom will be forgotten.

AOSTH - This never really had much in the way of a continuous plot, so an ending probably wasn't on the minds of the writers. Would've been nice to see an ending, though.
Sonic SATAM - Major plot threads were tied up at the end of Season 2. However, the cliffhanger left things open for a third season which never happened, although it was confirmed that the red eyes were in fact Ixis Naugus. Several fan endings have since surfaced.
Sonic Underground - Definitely needed a proper ending, this one. (Heck, I'm actually planning a fanfic about it).
Sonic X - Thankfully, this thing had a proper ending with |Chris returning to his world after the defeat of the Metarex at the end of season 3 (three seasons too long, if you ask me).
Sonic Boom - Just like with AOSTH, a continuously evolving narrative is probably the last thing on the writer's minds. Would be interesting to see how this thing ends, however.

AoStH wasn't listed because it wasn't based on a specific plot, like the others. Boom is based off of an alternate continuity, so it's only fair to understand the weight of the very series, considering how it's overtaking the main cannon.

Technically that's what makes the ending so appropriate. The series ended its story but it starts and ends with the implication that Sonic and Eggman and pals were already in a whirlwind of adventures and fights prior to Sonic X and after Sonic X. Sonic X, itself, was just the stories that Chris was involved in. The description of the series back in the early days were even something along the lines of it being a show about Chris where he meets his guardians, Sonic and co. Chris being gone, there's no need to continue it. Yet there's also no reason for Sonic's adventures to just randomly end either.
And it's the same in both the Japanese and English version. The English version's is shorter if that's what you mean, but the ending is the same. Chris leaves, Sonic and Eggman continue their adventures and fights and Cosmo is hinted to possibly come back to life spiritually through her seed, or at least be the next Earthaia. Earthaya... however it was spelled. lol
Well like I said... Boom is like AoSth. You didn't list AoSth because it wasn't based on a specific plot thus needed no proper ending. Same with Boom. So far, it has had no real plot. Just random shenanigans unrelated each episode. If you mean the games... the games are inconsistent. There's 2 of them with completely different stories. Neither fits the tone of the TV show all that well and neither of them actually connect to the tv show all that well. When I see the show, it's as if Lyric never existed. The only hints that he did is that they used the synergy beam like.... TWICE.... and Eggman has that thing on his wrist.
