After seeing what power and resources the Horde had she decided to not fight but instead join them in order to accrue more power and authority for herself. On a campaign against a race called the Magicats her commander died. She then took his position. Rumors had it she might have had something to do with it but in the heat if battle nothing was certain. After laying waste to the country Hordak presented her the Magicat Queen's mask. It turned her into a half human half cat like being. The mask gives her superior strength, agility, and senses. It can also turn her into a feline beast which enhances her powers even more. From this point forward she is promoted to Force Captain and takes the name Catra.
