She was AWESOME to work with, and knew her way around a sword as well.

That's one nifty big sword.
Hmm but the blur effect in the photo is really annoying and so eighties...

Yeah... but, I was just starting out, and that WAS a simple point and click camera, and far FAR removed from anything professional. (and hey... I liked the 80s... especially the various "barbarian" movies that we got out of that decade. It's what I was going for!)

Great photo, I like everything about it including the softness about the pic. The costume is perfect, you did a great job there and the model is top notch, gotta love Nevaeh.

She is so amazing! I have done three shoots with her now (two that evening) and in every shoot, she looks like a completely different person! She is one of these models that is so versatile, that she could pull off just about any look, and any character, and pull them off with such distinction, that each character becomes the embodiment of that person.

Who knitted the halter and t-back? Nice work.

Actually, it's not a knit, but rather, made of 14 gauge steel chain maile, in a 5-1 pattern. Yep, she was wearing real armor.

I used to work for a chainmailler -- crafting chain mail is known as "knitting" among armorers. It looks like a Randolph Markham pattern, especially the halter.

Ah... my bad... thought you meant something else...
The pattern itself (if you're talking the chain maile) is a rather typical Mediaeval style of knit. However, I can assure you it was not made by Randolph Markham! Thanks for the compliment though!

Doesn't she though? She has a sort of "Kit Rae" look about her in this image. As I said before, I mentioned that I wanted something that looked like a Luis Royo painting, and she knew exactly what to do... no other instruction needed! FANTASTIC to work with, indeed!

Oh yeah... she is a very strong woman, and I wanted to reflect that in the imagery.

I'm sure by your icon, that you are familiar with the "Savage Sword of Conan" PG rated comic books of the 1970s, right? Well, that look was what we were going for... Luis Royo, Boris Vallejo, and Frank Frazetta in style, and that was the 60s, and 70s, and those great artists imaginings of women in mythological, and fantasy settings.
So yeah... she pulled it off perfectly.
If you look at other photos I have of her ("Madness of Flutterbyes" or "The Apple") you will hardly recoginize her, as she is capable of completely changing her look for each setting. Amazing to behold, indeed.
