yea the handle is auctualy long enough to put both hands on and have space left over, and the case is missing the cord that holds it to the belt...
other then that it looks awesome

Excellent samurai, though I have to be honest and say that the sword he is holding doesn't do the rest of the piece justice at all. It looks like it's been thrown on there in a few minutes and doesn't look quite right. A katana is a curved sword for starters, while your blade looks straight and the proportions of the blade and the hand, handle and guard are rather off. I think the blade should be longer.
Not trying to break your work down, just giving a few remarks, because the samurai himself looks amazing.

Not to sound rude , but katana isnt necessarely curved for starter , and second if the blade is small , that mean its a wakisashi
. Also . the ''guard'' like you call it ( its called a tsuba
) can be like that in real life . of course it could have been more detailed , but i didnt draw the thing
. But i agree with you the blade itself could have been more detailed . not my call though
THx for the comment , i appreciate
by the way , heres 2 link to show you something close to what the penciler drew ( blade and tsuba wise )

Ok now DA ate my comment twice ...
I've seen what happened here though, your penciler used a zatoishi as a reference. Zatoishi were swords disguised as walking sticks when sheathed so they are straight but they never have a tsuba, nor are they generally used by fully armored samurai. This looks more like a ninja-to though, the basic ninja sword. Katana are actually always curved but you are right that there are japanese swords which were straight. The thing is that his saya is curved but the sword isn't.
Anyways sounds like you didn't do the lineart so you can ignore my previous comment and just go with Great job!

while i agree with you . Katana can also look almost not curved . And so when you look at them from a certain angle , they would almost look straight . which i think is what happened here . Not the best angle to pose a sword cause its difficult to give it any shape . Like this sword , from a sorta front angle , it would almost seems straight . That could explain why the saya is curved . Anyway im not trying to say it couldnt have been more curved , just trying to explain that its very possible to see a sword like that

Anyway thx for the comment

This is really cool. I love the way you colored it; the lighting and shadowing all look fantastic. The one thing that bugs me a bit is that his arms look like they're longer than his legs. I'm not sure if that was intentional but it gives the impression that he's a dwarf. Great job, though.
