Description
'Ram made the reckless mistake of grabbing the hair of her neck and yanking back. The last reins of calm were let go and she was driven by adrenaline.'About the drawing:
This is a charcoal-on-paper drawing. I used very little reference. I glanced at a headshot of Bruce Willis to figure out head shape I wanted to use, looked at growling wolves to get details for the snarl, and used my own character reference sheet I made for the werewolf overall. Everything else is completely scratch-drawn with no reference.
I do not have a large scanner so I had to photograph it.

Hey there! Thanks for taking a look through my gallery. Glad you like this one. It's one of my favorites and was a ton of fun to make. Haven't made much recently because I've been focusing on writing the book this comes from hehe.

this is really cool, the movement of the piece is really interesting, the anatomy is perfect. the werewolf is wicked cool. Bravo using charcoal, some people don't like to use it because it can be messy, but this turned out perfect.

I thought this looked like Bruce Willis Great shading and detail with the fur, by the way, very realistic, AND I LOVE THE SQUIRTING BLOOD!
You also did the pose very well, I like how you can see the werewolf pushing the gun out of the way.
You should check out "The Devil's Price" by Black-December, it's actually a very similar concept except the werewolf is standing behind the poor guy.

Just checked it out, it's a very interesting piece. When I started percolating ideas for this drawing I had a lot of different poses come up, including a from-the-behind one. This is what I ended up choosing just because I could convey an actual fight (as opposed to a 'gotcha!' moment) and practice making a very dynamic and moving pair of gestures.

You are really good at doing fur. The shading on it is very nice. I like the action feel to this.

Thank you. Fur is still an area of improvement for me, but I'm very glad everyone likes how it came out.

this is really nice, in a gorey sort of way. I like the expression of the wolf and the way he's positioned, though to me the guy's face looks a bit calm for being bitten on the neck.

Thank you. Yes, the face of the soldier was a bit difficult. Namely the problem was getting teeth to read. Eventually I gave up and moved on to the rest of the body. If I was able to pull of clenched teeth the expression would come across very different. Amazing what a little thing like that does...

I suppose it would be nice. I'm actually fond of the monochromatic nature of charcoal drawing.
