Description
PRINT NOW AVAILABLE ON DeviantART.Hey everyone! So... I decided to do a lil study for myself to help understand certain things about the female shape and form better (stomach in particular). Im no expert at anatomy, so theres definitely more accurate interpretations out there by other artists, but thought Id share it with you all anyway.
Hope you enjoy!
• Pencils and colour done in Photoshop CS3 by Wacom Intuos 3
EDIT UPDATE - Discovered a line I didnt connect that carries on from the ribs, passed the hips and runs down into the leg muscle that reaches the knee area.

Oh I think its a pretty study, yeah maybe its still comicinfluenced, but I think it is a very well executed comic style, I like how you draw her bewbs, and your interest for the stomach, really shops decent interest ^^

Just have to try find where the shadows lead and how to group the prominant areas into shapes and lines.

Wowzerz.
This is really good, and quite an interesting study.
It would be awefully nice if you could try one of these, but instead for guy anatomy and poses. :3

Definite reference. Say what you will about your skills with anatomy; this is still one of the more helpful things I've found, given this almost has a graphic arts look to it (If that's not what you intended, then apologizes; I'm just reminded of it).
But yes, very good. If you don't mind, I'd love to reference this for future art pieces. And a fav to you, as well.

This is great. Women can be so difficult to draw poses for. I have trouble with it personally so I'm glad I have something like this to use as inspiration.

Graceful and sensual studies. I particularly like the dabs of white on the highlights. I wish I had such a good grasp of form and pose. Keep it up!

For someone who is no expert you can do the female form about a thousand times better than I can XP Damn curves...

Good work here, especially with the stomach and hands, but I'd suggest looking into the breasts. Their relation to her shoulders should be direct; instead, you're making trapezoids out of her throat/collar area. A raised shoulder equals a raised breast - the muscle stretchs down from her arm to the side of the breast near the armipts, and lifts the whole side of the body from the waist up. It's most noticable between her armpit and her breast, but really, the whole mass of tissue if more affected that you're showing.

That's really amazing! [link]
I do most of my drawing on my notes during class, so it's a little harder to draw the female form without looking like a perv.
This would be excellent for referencing.
It's hard to draw fingers without them either looking bad or like you took forever on them.

This is a brillant resource! I'm so glad someone finally did this. Thank you so much! I especially have trouble with hips, and this will help a lot. Thank you!
P.S. Do you have one for males as well?

it's nice but limited to one body type. i'd say about two percent of the female population has this type of body. it's good for cartoons but not realism.
