My character Yamaguchi Sozo in my newest style. Named for the Jeremy Camp song of the same title. This is supposed to be an opening sequence for a possible music video of that song. If my book is made into a movie, I may include something like this in. My Piece de Resistance of my art career so far. Hopefully, I'll be able to color it. Done over 8 days last year.

Since I love RuroKen so much I want to do the sort of "Secret Life of Characters" that Watsuki-sensei does.
So I'll do a bio of Yamaguchi Sozo.
There's lot's of influences for his character. Design-wise, he's based off a certain character from "Samurai X" the movie, except younger... As for the armor design, I wanted a more ancient style of samurai armor (you'll rarely find O-yoroi armor in the Azuchi-Momoyama period) but the design is original. Personality-wise, he's an amalgamation. He's introverted, intellectual, a skilled swordsman, and serious. He's a little irritable, though, and very prideful. These traits are vaguely like Hiko Seijuurou from Rurouni Kenshin, but they are also attributes that I myself have. He also has a clever side. His morals are a lot like Jin's from Samurai Champloo: that is, the more skilled you are, the better. The only way you can get on in life is to get more powerful. But he also has a soft side. The haiku-drawing knack of his... well, that's just something I made up off the top of my head. It's a convenient interest. His interest in swords are a lot like my own, to the fact that a sword is a symbol of a man's betterment. Whatever way you use the sword, that's how you communicate.
His birthplace is another convenience. I know, his character is a lot of conveniences... really, he IS a convenient main character. Sorry... eheh...
