I just feel it's missing something, or some part of it needs a little changing. Was considering if the tribal is a thick outline, and inside it, instead of flat black, it had some design, or dragon heads in smoke or some such

Oooh..you could try the smoke thing..give it a ghost effect. If you hate it, try surrounding the whole thing with a blue haze. Works wonders on tribal pieces!

I prefer my tribals to not have a background, that's just me though But since it's going on my arm, i get to choose what it looks like If I can just get it right xD I think it might just be the proportions that are a little off. Should probably get Deb to take some photos of my arm/shoulder some time, so i can try painting it on me via photoshop, and work out what works best.

Yes, photoshopping the tat on is an excellent idea. When I am drafting a pattern for someone, especially a cover up or add-on to an existing tattoo, I draw right on a photo of whatever part of their anatomy the tat is on. So good luck, and let me know how it comes out!!

I tried photoshopping the tattoo yesterday on a stock photo, and sadly i think it looks a little too simple when applied Looks like I'll have to change it again
