Description My new ballet shoes. Haven't had much opportunity for pictures, but we had a break in the weather, so I got my trusty camera (back from the shop!) and my trusty sidekick to help me, and out we went.

how high is the heel?
like in inches.
i'm sure i could never use these type of shoes.
i'm bad enough in regular heels.
but i did have some wear some (only 3 1/2in) all weekend a few weeks ago and by then end could walk in them just fine.
i was proud of myself=]

anyway, good job i guess.

Well, thank you! I guess that means you like the shoes?

LOL. Yes, I like the shoes. I have respect for anyone who can walk gracefully in any kind of heels, let alone continue to be a real lady in shoes like those.

Oooh! I've never seen any ballet boots like those before.
Might sound like a silly question, but, is it easier to walk on pointe or is it easier to walk with ballet boots on?

I think it's easier to walk with the ballet boots on... you have a touch more stability and have the heel there to take a bit of the weight. They're easier than they look to walk in, actually.

They don't look uncomfortable to wear standing, but how are they to walk in? (I like the pic as far as documentation goes, I can't wait to see how you use them for more artsy stuff!)

WarSprite In reply to jotuba [2004-03-03 07:23:10 +0000 UTC]

They're shaky to walk in, to be honest, though I'm getting better in them. My ballet *boots* are much easier due to the added support and the fact that they're designed slightly different. These shoes require a lot more work. Feel free to chat me up on ICQ or any of the other IM networks if you wanna chat about them.

Those look painful, yet fabulous.

you know what might look nice? if that pebble would have been underneath one of the heels there....just a thought. And them shoes actually look rather comfy, even for the position the foot has. *nodnod*

WarSprite In reply to brokenangel [2004-02-16 18:07:04 +0000 UTC]

I didn't even notice the pebble, to be honest, until we were done. And my BF (who was snapping the pix) isn't exactly the best photographer (though he's improving... )

Even that little pebble probably would've been enough to upset my balance. Those shoes are fairly sensitive to things underfoot, or to angled surfaces.

I'm pretty sure it would be a danger to yer balance, but you could do a "fake" one, one where you'd keep balance while holdin onto something with a heel onto a pebble...or a crushed can or the like.

Not a bad idea. I'll have to play with that on the next nice day outside.

It needs more space to lower part of the picture so that I could set it as a wallpaper without that Windows toolbar blocking the tip of shoes.

I might be able to oblige you - I cropped that pic. How many more pixels do you need?

supertee In reply to WarSprite [2004-02-16 08:20:15 +0000 UTC]

I already did rework that pic to have an extra white space so it fits nicely to desktop. I also just had to remove that pebble and other annoying little things from the ground and the wall.

Not really, believe it or not. If you look in my gallery you'll see lots of other pictures that are simliar.
