Description

Lisa Kim, A tall 30 something year old film director, attended a movie festival with her American husband, Nathan, and their 10 year old daughter, Bella, to promote one of her projects about a group of individuals who shrink down to the size of half an inch and must survive the elements and dangers of the world at their new scale. While Nathan and Bella were looking for the concession stand that had free snacks, they rounded a corner and ended up in a room that contained props to some of the films that would be previewed at the event later.

Bella-"Look Daddy! Its the shrink machine that's going to be used in Mommy's movie!" Bella said excitedly, running over to it and pressing some random buttons on it.

Nathan- "Lets go Bella. I do not think we are supposed to be in here." Nathan said to his daughter. Bella began walking back towards her father.

Bella- "That would be cool if it actually worked..." Bella said. Nathan was about to respond to Bella, when a bright light filled the room for a second, followed by a noise, and then everything was normal once again. Except the fact Nathan and Bella had disappeared. Or so it seemed.

Nathan- "Ugh.....what happened? What the...." Nathan said, checking his surroundings. After a minute of gathering their bearings and more observation of their surroundings. The father and daughter came to the horrible realization that the prop was not really just a prop at all, and it had shrunk them down to size.

Bella- "Daddy I am scared! How did this happen?! We are like the size of ants now!" Bella said, almost wanting to cry! Suddenly, a large shadow casted over them, followed by the sounds of deafening thuds that nearly made the two tinys lose their footings. To their horror, it was a security guard. Only he was ungodly massive in size! The tiny father and daughter screamed as the Guards enormous boot slammed down just feet from where they stood...

Security Guard-"WHO IS THERE?! HUH....THAT'S WEIRD....THE FEED DETECTED MOTION IN HERE...OH WELL, GUESS IT WAS SORTA MY FAULT. I SHOULD HAVE CLOSED THE DOOR AND LOCKED IT." The sound of the Guards voice was deafening and made Nathan and Bella's ears ring, even with their hands cupped over both of their ears! They noticed one of his bootlaces was hanging just low enough for them to grab hold of. Nathan ordered his daughter to follow him as they began to ascend the lace. The plan was to hopefully reach the cuffed hem of his pant leg so they could be off the ground and somewhere a little safer. That did not happen as the Guard began to move, even tho this wild ride barely lasted 5 seconds, it felt like an eternity to Nathan and Bella as their world moved past them at breakneck speeds! They screamed in terror but hung on for as long as they could anyways.

Security Guard- "OH SHI-" He nearly cried out as he stepped in a puddle of spilled Soda on the wooden floors, nearly falling on his butt. The sudden movement from the guards leg flying up caused Nathan and Bella to become ejected and soar blindly thru the air, landing in a large metal tub of popcorn. The guard began to curse and swear under his breath, pissed off that whoever spilled their drink could have injured somebody and did not tell a janitor.

Meanwhile, Nathan and Bella were still shaken up from the jarring ride moments earlier, but fine. Bella noticed most of her body was coated in some kind of oily substance that smelled, and tasted, very familiar. Same thing with Nathan.

Bella- "Daddy? Where are we??" Bella asked, but before she could get a response from her Father, another large shadow casted over them once more. Looking up, they Saw it was Lisa!

Nathan- "Lisa baby! Down here! We are down here! Hey!!!" Nathan said waving his arms and shouting. Bella began shouting at the top of her lungs, waving her arms as well in an attempt to get Lisa's attention. Their hopes of being noticed were shattered however when Lisa grabbed the popcorn scooper and began lowering it towards her tiny family. Nathan and Bella tried to avoid it, but they were just too small. Lisa scooped up two scoopfuls of popcorn and deposited the contents into a bag. Almost immediately, Lisa began digging into the bag, snacking on her popcorn as she walked back towards the main lobby, wondering where her Husband and Daughter went.

Nathan- "Lisa!!!!!" Nathan screamed at the top of his lungs as he grabbed a hold of his equally terrified Daughter and dove to the right, barely avoiding Lisa's massive, boney fingers as the pinched a chunk of popcorn kernels and lifted them out of the bag and into her waiting mouth. Bella began to cry as she realized her mom could eat both of them and not even know it! If they wanted to survive, Nathan knew the safest thing to do was to burrow deeper amongst the gigantic popcorn Kernels til they reach the bottom of the bag and pray that Lisa would either Finish without eating them, or lose interest in her snack and throw the bag away...

After minutes of screaming, crying, deafening sounds of kernels being ripped too shreds and such, Lisa picked the last popcorn kernel from the button of the bag and popped it into her mouth. All that remained were just crumbs, a few partially unpopped kernels, and Nathan and Bella, who had somehow avoided being eaten!

Nathan- "That was close. Shes probably going to throw the bag away in the trash. I do not know how we will escape, but at least we will be safe for the time being." Nathan said to Bella. Unfortunately for them, Lisa plans to eat every last crumb on the bottom of the bag. Nathan and Bella screamed and tried to desperately find something to hang onto. This time, Gravity and Fate we're not on their side anymore. The bag was brought up to Lisa's wide open waiting mouth which was the last thing her poor family ever saw. Nathan and Bella screamed as they slowly lost their footing and tumbled towards the cavernous maw....

Lisa crumbled the now empty bag up and tossed it in the trash. The showings were going to start any minute now and she wondered just where Nathan and Bella went. She tried to dial his phone but it just went to voicemail. Strange. Lisa decided to help herself to another glass of champagne to wash out the rather unusual taste those last bits of popcorn left in her mouth as she continued to try and find her family...
