Description

Nolem grinned when Mea found the treasure chest on the bottom of the Pond. He tried to act nonchalant, but the little Mais couldn’t deny he was getting nervous.
Ever since their treasure hunt game began, Nolem had caught himself liking the adventurous Maisling more and more. Until he couldn’t deny it any longer… he had a crush.
He even went as far as to make this special surprise.

But what if Mea didn’t like it? Even worse, what if she didn’t like him?
Nolem shook the thought away. He concentrated on helping with getting the chest out of the mud and onto the shore. Which turned out to be quite a challenge for the two little pirates.

‘Arr, it’s already getting dark.’ Mea observed as she removed her hat and set it against the chest.
Nolem swallowed, took off the eye patch and stood on the other side of the chest, facing Mea.
‘Mea, there’s something I wanted to say, before you open the chest.’
The white Maisling looked curious as she waited for Nolem to continue.
‘I had fun spending time with you. I… I really like you.’ Nolem felt his face heat up and he quickly looked away.
‘There’s a surprise in the treasure chest. It reminded me of you, so… I hope you like it.’

Nolem kept his gaze down until he heard the chest opening, accompanied by a soft gasp.
When he finally raised his head he saw a surprised Mea, surrounded by fireflies.
Nolem felt his heart swell, he was all fuzzy inside and his stomach was flopping around.
Yeah, he had a big crush alright.
