Description Author’s note- This is set just prior to the episode ‘fear her’ and the events of the end of series 2, Doctor who is copyright BBC. I also apologise to any ‘old school’ doctor who fans for any inconsistencies regarding doctors 1-7, the first doctor I saw was Paul McGann
Additional (20/4/07)- Apologies to any Martha Jones fans, but I started this story just after the end of series 2, and some bits in the story work better with Rose.

Chapter one- Four and Ten

Rose Tyler awoke rather suddenly, she sat up in bed in her quarters on the TARDIS, she waited a moment to try and hear anything out of the ordinary, but their wasn’t, she shook her head and smiled to herself, travelling with the doctor, you always expected the worst.
She Washed got dressed and made her way to the main control room, “morning Rose” a familiar voice said and Rose walked over to find the doctor’s legs sticking out from under a console, he slid out and looked up at her “fancy some breakfast?”
“Yeah why not, I’ll check the kitchen,” when she first went on board the Tardis, she couldn’t believe a spaceship could have a kitchen, but this one did. Then again, she thought, most Space ships don’t look like phone boxes. “no, I thought we’d go out for breakfast,” the Doctor continued, getting up and brushing non-existent dust of his suit, “I was thinking the planet Dentrass, the city of New Old York, in the year 4306?”
“Whatever, you’re the Time Lord, did you just say New Old York?”
“Yep,  in the 24th century colonists from Earth founded a city on what the local’s called the Dentrass, most of these settlers were northern lads, so they would’ve named it New York, but that had already been taken, so New Old York,”
“By ‘eck” Rose replied sarcastically,
“Yeah, you’ll get a lot of that here, good breakfasts though”
“Here, you mean we’re already there,” Rose asked
“yep, or at least we should be, the outside camera isn’t working, I was just checking if it was the screen or the camera, well, one way to find out, and we can get a meal whilst we’re at it, your paying by the way,”
“With what?” Rose replied, the doctor grabbed his coat, put it on and opened the door. He stopped there looking at something outside the Tardis.

---------

Sarah Jane Smith awoke rather suddenly, as if she had had a bad dream, but she couldn’t remember dreaming of anything specific, as usual she got dressed and bang! She was thrown to the floor as the whole Tardis seemed to lurch to the left. It stopped and Sarah Quickly made her way to the control room. “What was that?” she asked as the doctor whizzed around the control panels pressing various buttons and leavers of various purposes. “Um, I’m not quite sure,” the Doctor replied, “we’ve just appeared several miles above, somewhere?”
“Somewhere?!” Sarah exclaimed.
“That seems as good a term as any, all the sensors are dead and we’re travelling at mach 3 downwards, could you kindly hold onto something, “I’m going to try to land this” the Doctor replied still pressing various buttons, Sarah held onto the console and crouched slightly expecting a shudder to match the previous one. There was a light thud across the Tardis, and the doctor looked at her “there, now” he put on his hat threw his scarf over his shoulder “shall we see where we are,” he said walking towards the door and picking a jelly baby out of a bag in his pocket, “what if its not breathable, or we’re surrounded by Daleks,”
“Yes I suppose you’re right,” the doctor said walking back over to the console and putting the jelly baby back into the bag, “you couldn’t pass me the inverse Tachyon rod could you Sarah?” Sarah pondered this for a second; looking at a box of tools underneath the console, “the large blue metallic…” he was cut off by a distant noise from outside the Tardis that sent a chill down both of their spines, the familiar woosh-woosh of a Tardis. The doctor walked over to the door, “I’m afraid I’m going to have to look Sarah” the doctor said, opening the door. He could see a police box, identical to his own, stood in the open doorway of which was a man in his mid twenties with short scruffy black hair, a pin stripe suit and white trainers. “Hello” they both said at the same time. “You aren’t by chance the Doctor are you,” the Doctor said to the man, “I’m afraid I am,” he replied in an Estuary accent, “but I don’t remember this happening, not as you anyway,”
“Doctor who is it?” Sarah asked from inside the Tardis, a similar voice asked the same question from inside the other Tardis, this time in a London accent. “Can you Tardis erase memories? Mine could but it’s rather low on power at the moment,”
“Yes it can,” the younger doctor replied, “Rose, there’s someone I’d like you to meet” he said, he stepped outside and a youngish girl with blonde hair stepped out “this is the doctor, Four to be exact,”
“Hi,” Rose said, “so you’re a future incarnation of the doctor, she said as she looked at the scarved man. “Actually, I am a past version, speaking of which, might I enquire which you are,”
“The Tenth, but ninth regeneration,” he answered as a girl stepped from Four’s Tardis, “hello” he said rather awkwardly. “Hello,” the girl replied, “you’re the Tenth doctor?”  She said in a slightly confused voice, “who are you?” She said to her counterpart companion,
“Rose, Rose Tyler” she replied “your Sarah…”
“Rose Shh” Ten said, cutting her off, “lets get your ship sorted doctor,”
“Of course,” Fourth replied, “would you like a Jelly baby?”
“Yes please, I haven’t had those in ages,” Tenth said smiling,
The Doctors immediately got to work on the Tardis, working all the while, “is that the sonic screwdriver?” Fourth asked, rather intrigued “I mean I suppose there is no harm in asking,”
“And if we are going to wipe your and Sarah Jane’s Memories there’s no harm in asking, yes it is, well, I still call it that its more of a multi-tool now,” Tenth replied looking at a console he hadn’t seen in about, heaven knows how many years, he activated the sonic screwdriver and undid a panel on the console, checking inside. It would appear you’ve suffered a total power failure, as if the Tardis cannot find a source of power,”
“But of course there is a source of power, the Eye of Harmony on Galifrey,” Ten doctor nodded, holding his expression steady, the Tardis hadn’t been powered by the Eye since the Time wars, a war this doctor existed ‘prior to’ and knew very little about, he had made sure this had remained so in the years of his life following the wars as the paradoxes of their discovery would be disastrous. “What if we’re not in your, our dimension? No, that wouldn’t work, then my Tardis would fail as well, it must be some huge singularity dampener, what its doing here and why it has brought both you and here is anyone’s guess.
The two companions we’re left outside on the planet, it was a pretty desolate place, on the side of a mountain, the ground was rocky and dusty. There was an awkward silence, “Do you know me?” Sarah Jane asked “you nearly said my name, I’m Sarah Jane Smith,” Rose needed to cover up the truth with something, she smiled “that’s weird, I’ve got a friend called Sarah, she looks kinda like you, I wondered what she was doing with the Doctor,” it was a poor lie, but it was better than telling her the truth, “so when are you from?” Rose continued, changing topic. “The early nineteen eighties, planet Earth that is, and you?” Sarah said looking at the other Tardis. “Two thousand and six, more or less,” Rose replied,
“Which planet?”
“Earth, I’ve got to admit, we’ve haven’t settled any other planets yet,” Rose said, “I haven’t met many other doctors before,”
“I have, one other well that was how I met him back on Earth, he looked much older than he was now, had a thing for sports cars, have you other met him?”
“No, but when I met the Doctor he was different too, a bit taller, very short hair, a leather jacket and a northern accent, that was about two months ago though, when we faced the Daleks, oh, sorry have you met…” she trailed off.
“Yes I have, several times, none too pleasant really,” Sarah replied smiling weakly as they stepped looked across the landscape. The awkward silence between the two companions was interrupted by a thunderous explosion and Ten popped his head out of the door “Rose, Sarah Jane, you don’t fancy going somewhere else do you?” the two companions rushed inside Ten’s TARDIS, “But we cant just leave the TARDIS there!” Sarah said to the Fourth doctor,
“I don’t know, the old girls survived worse,” Four replied, “and we shall retrieve it once we find out what’s going on,”  As they shut the door, Ten ran over to the console and began to operate it, “right, somewhere nice and safe, say 30th century Mars??”
“Yes, I suppose its as good a place as any,” Four replied smiling and offering Rose a Jelly baby, once again the TARDIS shook violently sideways as it had before. “Where are we?” asked Rose
“When are we?” added Sarah-Jane

The TARDIS materialised in a small alleyway and Ten stepped outside, “this is more than a coincidence,” Four stepped out as well, reading the sign “Foreman’s Scrap Yard!”
“What are you men doing with that!” they heard a voice, and a young woman stepped into the light “that my grandfather’s err, phone box!”
“Miss Foreman?” Four asked calmly,
“yes” the girl replied
“Miss Susan Foreman?” he added
“Yes” she replied again, still looking confused
“We couldn’t have a word with your grandfather could we?”

This is good! For some reason I kept picturing three, but that's just my brain. I LOVE the Dentrassi reference! (At least I'm assuming that's what it was?) And the story seems good so far!
Story seems a little paradoxy, but then, so is the whole series... Mmmmmm 43 years of paradoxxxx
Anyway, good work!

woo! comment!

Thanks very much, yeah, very Paradoxy, particularly with the whole time war, and trying to write a four-dimensionl storyline (only douglas adams ever managed to write in 5 dimensions)

and yeah, the Dentrassi bit just sprung to mind as a name for a planet,

You're welcome!^^
Yeah, 'cause the time war caused Gallifrey and the time lords to never have existed, so fistly the Doctor couldn't have survived, and secondly all his companions would have *thinks* I have no idea what should have happened to them, but it should have been something. Argh, time travel makes my head hurt...
(Really? Time, space, space, space and which?)

The dentrassi rock!
I'm going to have to watch this story carefully

1st-length
2nd- Width
3rd- Depth
4th- Time
5th- Probability (According the Douglas Adams anyway)

>>"I'm going to have to watch this story carefully"

Does that mean i have to write more?? oh heck
