It wasn't. At one shelter, the dog we were interested in kept getting adopted by someone else before we could do anything, so we started looking elsewhere. Another shelter didn't even approve us for stupid reasons, and so now we've moved on to another one. We're taking our dog up there for a meet and greet tomorrow.
