YouTube Music >youtu.be/wsCHzXIhUoU Good to Go - Alan SilvestriRhytha at the controls of Kiiaya, the sentient starship.fav.me/d422n2o
Chyrithian ships don't have much in the normal sense of instrumentality. A few multipurpose displays and a Psionic interface yoke that is impressing visual data directly into Rhytha's visual cortex and also allowing her to mentally control the functions of the ship and communicate with Kiiaya. Rhytha has much to learn and Kiiaya is a good and seasoned flight instructor.
She will learn how to focus and direct the ships gravity vortex for sublight propulsion, and avoid the many dangers of space. But the highlight of the lesson will be faster than lightspeed navigation which requires special skills. To travel faster than light is to leave linear time and enter Eternity. Which the Human, or Chyrithian brain, has trouble perceiving. "It's like being suddenly thrust into a dream" says Rhytha, "space becomes a riot of swirling color and shapes, Tachyon forms! The stars are still there, but oddly enhanced". Though the purple circle she stands on emits a field that preserves some of our space-time, it takes tremendous effort to even do simple tasks and avoid getting lost.
After several lessons, tests, and challenges passed sucessfuly. Kiiaya will certify and broadcast that she is a Starpilot, and has earned all the wonders that come with the title.

My latest and probably final design of Rhytha with minor tweaks. Isn't she beautiful........she's a creature shaped by the wind.
Revision 1: New instruments and lights.
Revision 2: More interior detail & gave Rhytha a nicer butt.
Done in Gimp 2.6 on a Adesso M14 Cybertablet.

I feel that way too. If I had made Avatar the movie the Ikran would have been the sentient Navi beings not the big blue guys!Β Β Humans are justΒ cheap for Sci-Fi acting I guess. Thanks!!Β Β

unfortunately most my creations were lost when spore was abandoned and some has been claimed by maxis themselves. I know I recently reentered spore threw steam and found some of my ships with their name on them not mine. I'd know my handy work anywhere. I am still working on finding a way to link them to ya but for the time being I don't have access to them as of yet. its kind of annoying. orical and steam aren't of speaking terms when it comes to my old and new stuff on spore. I only wish it was easier to get to it.Β sorry for that the best I can do in revel in your work and even in my own spaceship drawings I've got here.

I've read many rumors & complaints about Maxis doing that with other Spore players creations... and then some trolls taking over the Sporepedia & downrating everybody's creations, for months! Makes you wonder about those guys (EA)!
Oh well. I did do a good look at your Gallery, good looking Starships you have, so Alien! Keep up the good work!Β

New more detailed version! More detail on the ship interior that's little more like I originally planned, but left out. Plus a little more shading Improvement on the instrument panel. Hope you like it and thanks for viewing.

You have a strange perspective here. It's not complete nonsense, just strange. It is also strange to fly a ship in this stance, because of her balance here. Does she support herself on the instruments or with her wings or something else?

Like most races that can travel faster than light, the Chyrithians have complete mastery over mass and gravity. The pad she stands on makes her as light as a feather by adjusting the constant of the ships artificial gravity. A suspension field also allows her to sit or lie down if she wishes.

Well it is a awkward pose. She doesn't fly the ship in that position. My big fail is the control yoke. It doesn't look like it could reach her while standing upright.

The Species does not make the impression to me of being capable of upright standing for long times anyway. Like monkeys, who can stand on their two legs, but instead support themselves with their arms because it is exhausting.

Right, they can walk or run on all fours. Whether it tires them to stand upright I don't think so. Different planet - different physiology.

I really like this picture. You put such a lot of heart in it. The colors are cool, and the depth is good. Also the scenery is great and sure was a lot of work. Well done!

Thank You! I always seem to put a little extra effort into Rhytha than I do my other characters. Maybe I'm in love XD.

Your picture is vivid and alive with color. When I look at a picture for judging, the first thing I look at if it is a drawing is the shading, how well did artist shade his picture. You have done well on shading. The second thing I look at is lighting, and the third is what kind of shadows that lighting cast. Your character is not casting a shadow.

Thank you very much for your input! Shadows are my nemesis when I paint and I rarely get that right. Rhytha is being illuminated by the purple disc beneath her so most shadowing should be on the spacecrafts ceiling, which is dark and out of view. I think I did decent on her wing though.

So the disk is a light? I to have problems with shadows and lights, but I believe they make or break a picture. Since the disk is a light, you should have a way for it to be highlighted. I have done such a thing for sig for someone once. I believe you said you use adobe. I'm not that familiar with that program, but I think it allows you to do effects. When I judge the pictures I will take into consideration it is a light.

You've given me a good idea. Maybe I should paint a "element" or "emitter" in the disk to make it look more like its glowing. I use Gimp which is like Photoshop CS minus some of PS's 3D and rendering goodies. Thanks!

Backgrounds are difficult and I tend to skip them if they're complicated. I found this article [link] and I wanted to give it a tryout above. It was surprisingly easy!
