These shots kind of inspired me to give it a try,
but it failed, I used my D5100 an 850 filter,100 iso and 10 -30 sec exp still got nothing,

An 850nm filter has a higher block ratio than a 720nm (Hoya R72) filter. If you change your Iso higher to say 400, you may see better results, failing that, go for the Hoya R72, as it lets more IR though
