One musician I remember once said of another that he wrote songs that had been written before as if they hadn't been. I might say something similar about a lot of your photos, including this one. He meant it as a compliment, and so do I

Is that a hill behind the house? I didn't think you had any of those around there.

lol...
kind of. Most, but not all of the hills in this area are created by valleys. This one is the latter, created by the Pembina River over who knows how many thousands of years.

You probably have a few glacial features with some elevation to them.

yup.
the valley was created by the river, but the escher through which the river cut was created in the ice age.

(I have not done anything about the camera yet, but I have decided to buy 2 lenses 24-70 and 70-200 both 2.8. I also discovered that my filters from my RB67 will fit these lenses.... talk about good luck)

It was quite a shock when I was put into a big city school at 13.. From 25 students to 2500.. Scary..

I can imaging.
Where I grew up, the school was a country school, but it was 5 rooms for 8 grades. But in grade 3 we were moved to a city school (it was a faith based school and that was important to my parents), by those standards it was huge. There was no school bus to take us, because it was a private school, so I can remember walking home on some days becasue rides could not be arranged. It was 8 miles, but I do not ever remember being upset or annoyed. The following year we moved to a brand new school, and now busing was arranged, but the ride was 40 miles each way. Finally in grade 7 my parents tired of all this and I went back to the 5 room school which was just down the road from where we lived.

You moved around a lot..My parent's were divorced when Iwas a baby. I grew up with my mother as teh main parent, but when I was 13 Iwanted to get to know myfather, so I went to live with him.. That's how I ended up in a city school. My mother's family were farmers, always had been. My father was a city boy.. You know how that goes. I'm glad now for the experience, but the adjustment was difficult.

Yes I guess we did.
My parents stayed together for 24 years. I was working in my first job when they decided to separate. I was an adult, but I still remember how it felt like I had no home to go back to. It was all perception and emotion of course, but none the less, it was real. I can only imagine how it would have felt for a teen.
I spent most of my growing years in the country. When I was 15 we moved to the city. I hated it. I was able to stay in the same high school, but it was a long bus ride or walk, so I decided to stay. I too am thankful for the experiences, but that does not mean they were easy.

It was quite an adjustment, but I love living in a city.. The farm was a fun way to grow up but I spent most of my adult years in San Francisco..
