Description An abandoned bike seeks shelter beside a very old log cabin. What stories could each of them tell? Perhaps they are in the middle of a long conversation right now, sharing their tales, if we listen very hard, we may be able to learn of their victories.

It should be restored... Then given to someone who has no bike.

there is something about bikes that attracts me... something like umbrellas.

I love that one, and your comment, it feels like the bike is a living being and leaning against the old house and whispering to it... there's something really sweet in this!!

I have come to the conclusion that Canadians are just as bad as Americans when it comes to casting vehicles aside. Makes for some neat images, though.

Looks to be in really good shape!

Do you happen to know why girls bikes, which this one is, don't have the bar between the seat and the steering column?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

WayneBenedet In reply to drrocket [2010-09-25 19:03:36 +0000 UTC]

not a clue, probably something to do with skirts and dresses.... please enlighten us.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

drrocket In reply to WayneBenedet [2010-09-25 19:25:03 +0000 UTC]

You guessed it, it's so that a girl's dress doesn't ride up. It's one of those left-over sort of things from the 1890s that hardly anyone knows about so they just keep mindlessly building them the way they're "supposed to be built". I haven't seen a girl in a dress for a zillion years...

that is so true...

so did you happen to notice the spelling mistake in the title? I saw it as soon as I read your comment and corrected it.

Sophia-Christina In reply to WayneBenedet [2010-09-25 19:47:37 +0000 UTC]

probably not there was a fun social passed around a bit at other places showing how even when letters are switched around or even backwards most people can still correctly Read the text and most people unless teachers can and sometimes will ignore misspelled words having caught the intent. Some go out of there Way to point out mistakes of others.

I believe the psychological term is closure, where we fill in the blanks based upon past experience.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Sophia-Christina In reply to WayneBenedet [2010-09-25 21:01:10 +0000 UTC]

OK I always thought of closure as letting go of the past

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

WayneBenedet In reply to Sophia-Christina [2010-09-26 02:33:40 +0000 UTC]

yes it is used that way, it has been a long time for me, (since I studied psychology) maybe I have used the wrong word.

Sophia-Christina In reply to WayneBenedet [2010-09-26 03:48:53 +0000 UTC]
