Before I even clicked on this, I immediately recognized that it was your photo, yea, I can pick out your works out of a crowd of photos (found it this time on the top of the site).

Thanks,
there are a few people who have said that to me before, and there are a number of people that I also recognize because of their subject and style. My work does not often get to the front page anymore because the metric limits it, so it is kind of nice to see it sitting there today.
Thanks for noticing and commenting.

thanks Dave, it was actually a hard shot to take and process because of the low light and contrast.

Its really nice, coming over to Cape Breton from England, to see so many old ford trucks and cars, restored and being driven around. Only time i see them at home is like this... left to rust.
However, this is a very good picture.

you should come west then. I am not sure about Cape Bretton, but I can show you hundreds of cars within 40 miles of my house.

Really like this rural portrait, just not the same without the objects for comparison in the background. Is that some sort of wood shed as part of the foreground?

I think the "shed" to the left is an old outhouse.

Okay, that's what I thought just seemed large for some reason. Thanks!

This may be one of the quite rare "war years" Fords. There was a major change in body style in 1942 which continued until 1948. Usually you see the '46-'47 years; there are some slight differences in the earlier ones. My eyesight is not good enough to tell.
I like the combine harvester in the background which looks poised to unload into another (too small) truck, as though work just stopped one day and everyone left leaving the detritus of daily life behind.

the combine and truck in the background were elements that I liked too, even at the time of taking. I wanted them to be out of focus, but not so much so that they would not be recognizable.
maybe someone else out there can tell us specifically which year this guy is. I cannot even hazard a guess.

Very nice ...not sure why, but the building beside the vehicle reminded me of an outhouse and brought out laughter.

I think you could be right about that SC. maybe the truck is taking a "break"

Yea, those classics look like only rust is holding them together.
