I have no idea. Maybe he was in a bad mood that day, or maybe he was always contrary and grouchy. In any event, as soon as I drove on the yard, I knew he was going to say NO. Some people are just like that.

What a jerk.
You do plenty of awesomeness without him anyway!

well, I am not sure.
I don't think he was being a jerk just to be a jerk. After all, I have no idea what his life was giving him that day or even that week. maybe my request just came at a really bad time for him.

I love the name of the picture! The building looks solid, strong and like it was challenged many times - a real keeper!

love the words that go with it although the image is translated in words from an entirely masculine angle

this is true,
Traditionally, at least in NA, farming has been seen as a male occupation, though women have played significant roles, they have been largely ignored for their contributions.
I wanted to covey the idea of a male, who gives himself to a task, but in the process of accepting this duty he is castrated so that he becomes stuck in that task, and even when the world changes, he cannot move on, but must stay as he is. I think this is a very common theme in our society, though not often spoken of.

I understood it this way you know, but I wanted to point out the male angle nonetheless.
But as I said good shot and together with the words it becomes even stronger.
