Done for the joan of arc film Mike Seymour is making, this is a style still from the animated shot. The shot sequnce involves both this exterior that has taken an age to build and is capable of close up's and the interior as well.the polycount was so high on this in raw polys with no sculpting alone that is blew up 1 machine and fried another.
So there's a good chance this wil be the highest polycount model in raw non sculpted polys I'll do for quite a while.
Done in 3dmax with bit of vue for the ground its standing non0 comped into shot...and rendered in mental ray

All this talk of a high poly count makes me wonder how high it was?

counting only the cathedral about 25 million polys, thats raw trad poly work not sculpting and was done by hand. 3dmax's viewport only suposed to work with 10 million or less.
