The new visuals are sick stuff! Great to put on the tv full screen while music's playing.

Care to explain your process here? I've been thinking on how to do visualization with 3ds MAX for some time now and still haven't figured out how to translate the audio into 2d/3d coordinates without doing a lot of programming myself.

In this image the spherical field in the middle you see - it reacts to the treble(high frequencies) of the track. The displacement(wave-y effect) is the reaction to the bass(low frequencies). The texture/reflection uses the background image as its environment, that way it blends in realistically and then when you add in the DOF(Depth of Field) from the camera you immerse the waveform even more into a 3 dimensional environment.
Some effects i like to make manually for the sake of perfect control.

what plugin are you using? looks like form, but how do you frequency slit the audio input? great visuals by the way! really nice look,

It's a bunch of expression/codes , that i've improvised with...

First of all, thanks for your answer! But actually I was referring to the much more basic stuff of how do you translate the actual audio file to workable coordinates/maps? Like if I wanted to use the audio as a force on a particle system for example, how do I even get it into a representation that a CAD program can interpret?

I create this in After Effects, i still haven't tried to make it in 3dmax, for that i need a script whith which i can transfer the coordinates on a dummy or something in 3dmax...

Ahh, so we share the same problem in that regard.
